Comments about Nautica Gulf Coast Pergola:
Takes some time to construct.
Overall product is average.I really liked the contemporary look but the two triangle roof seems to leave the structure a little wobbly. The bolt holes strip easily, but can be handled with a light touch. The canvas top is thin and natural fiber twine was supplied to attach it to the frame. Don't think either will last long, specially the twine. Both should be relatively easy to replace. My biggest gripe is the instructions. All parts came numbered and were properly accounted for. The instructions bear little relationship to the numbered parts. Ran out of bolts during the build but had plenty of the (same size) screws left over and had to decide where to substitute. Instructions directed to put part A with part B and they fit together but obviously didn't belong together because bolt holes for future steps were in wrong position. Instructions left out part D that belonged between A and B. Similar errors occured repeatedly in written instructions. Best recommendation is to look at the overall picture and ignore written directions.I would recommend with reservations about value and constructability.

love the finished structure - but the journey to get to the end result was challenging. you build the 2 triangles seperately on the ground, then the 2 triangles are joined in the center with just a 4 inch plate with 2 bolts - the instructions should identify the parts for triangle 1 and triangle 2- instead, there were 2 of everything labelled the same - and there are definitely diff pieces for each triangle - i can't tell you how many time we took them apart because we used the part for triangle 1 on triangle 2, and vice versa - and there is a difference because there are support holes that need to be in the correct place for installing the supports at the very end. lay the pieces out on the ground to form the entire triangle before bolting together. the triangles can be put together by 1 person, but when it comes time to erect the triangle roof on the supports - I HIGHLY recommend 4 people - one for each corner - we did it with 3 people and a ladder, but a 4th would have been better. the finished product is great - high enough to not feel claustrophobic - and air can circulate. the sails are not waterproof - they are water resistant - i don't recall reading this in the description, but may have missed it. i am not disappointed in the finished product, but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. good luck.
