Assembly instructions are included with each Dura-Trel product. Please read and follow all instructions. All products come completely fabricated. All items are cut to size, all holes are routed and pilot holes are drilled. All you need to do is put the pieces together with our simple to understand instructions and drawings, and secure with screws or bolts.
This product is virtually maintenance free. To keep clean use soap and water to wipe down. For tougher stains it is recommended to use lacquer thinner.

I've had this trellis for 5 or 6 years now and have had great luck with growing a Sweet Autumn Clematis on it. No complaints at all until last September when a freak storm blew in from the north and ripped it off of the brick wall I had it secured to. So, not wanting to kill the plant, I propped it up until it died back this winter and I could cut it back. The storm really did a number on the 6" screws and plastic anchors that came with the trellis. So when I fixed it this spring, I used 5/16 lag bolts and lead anchors instead. I'd recommend using larger hardware like this from the beginning if you're going to plant a heavy vine and live in a windy area.

The trellis is easy to assemble and once put together looks exactly like the picture. One of the big pluses is the height of the trellis - a trellis this tall is not easy to find.

Very easy to assemble. Beautiful. Placed in entry garden against a brick wall. Makes the brick wall more decorative. Plan to have climbing roses on trellis. Roses will be dark pink or red against peach/tan bricks. Will be gorgeous

Q1: Can this trellis be freestanding instead of wall-mounted?
A: The trellis is designed to be wall-mounted with included hardware. Due to the size of the trellis, if you did want to use this as a freestanding trellis you would need to attach some type of post - such as a 4 x 4 wood post - to the trellis for increased stability and to support. Generally, it's recommended for the posts to be 8 - 14 inches in the ground.
