Assembly instructions are included with each Dura-Trel product. Please read and follow all instructions. All products come completely fabricated. All items are cut to size, all holes are routed and pilot holes are drilled. All you need to do is put the pieces together with our simple to understand instructions and drawings, and secure with screws or bolts.
This product is virtually maintenance free. To keep clean use soap and water to wipe down. For tougher stains it is recommended to use lacquer thinner.

After taking down 5 shabby pines across our backyard property line we had a clear view of our rear neighbors kitchen window and deck. We purchased 2 of these trellises and then a 3rd to act as a screen. We made an "H" frame out of sturdy PVC, sunk it 3 ft into the ground and then screwed the trellis to them. Additionally we used clear zip ties across the "H's" midline to further secure the trellis to the frame. We raised the center trellis to 9 feet and placed it about a foot closer into our yard and the remaining 2 trellises flanking it behind and to the sides about 18" from our backyard neighbors white vinyl fence. I planted climbing roses and clematis and now I'm waiting for Mother Nature to work her magic! They look beautiful and elegant. Our neighbors (all sides) are also impressed. The spires atop these trellises mimic the design of fence post caps. My husband and I are delighted! We know we have negated the warrantee by not using them in the recommended manner but these trellises are both unusual and beautiful. The photo may look misleading because the trellises ARE level at all angles. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Really like the trellis. VERY HARD for one person to assemble; instructions are very poorly written for someone not a pro at installing. Two people make it much much easier. Maybe I will finally get it up tonight. You guys should pay someone to rewrite your instructions. Like the trellis; like the price. If I ever get it up, it will be great.

We loved the Trellis but found the directions too brief because we did not notice the holes for securing the ends and middle section until we had put the horizontal pieces in. We had to take it apart and start again.
We also decided to put re-bar in each vertical piece so we could get it secure in the ground and not the house. It looks great and our vines will have lots of room to grow.

I had to take it apart after almost finishing it because you have to make sure all the screw holes are facing the same side. But it goes tgether fairly quickly (although you may need some help only because of its size).
The material appears to be durable and is not shiny/cheap looking. I didn't want to attach it to the side of my house, but I think in the long run that may be the best course.

We placed one of these Winchester trellis either side of our garage and WOW what a transformation. Our house had poor curb appeal and the height and style of these trelis have totally enhanced the look of it. Very easy to put together and all pieces conected smoothly.
Am very pleased with this purchase and very impressed.

A: When mounted correctly using the four screws included, the Winchester Trellis would be six inches away from the wall, allowing growing room for plants and vines.
Q3: Can this trellis be freestanding instead of wall-mounted?
A: The trellis is designed to be wall-mounted with included hardware. Due to the size of the trellis, if you did want to use this as a freestanding trellis you would need to attach some type of post - such as a 4 x 4 wood post - to the trellis for increased stability and to support. Generally, it's recommended for the posts to be 8 - 14 inches in the ground.
