After taking down 5 shabby pines across our backyard property line we had a clear view of our rear neighbors kitchen window and deck. We purchased 2 of these trellises and then a 3rd to act as a screen. We made an "H" frame out of sturdy PVC, sunk it 3 ft into the ground and then screwed the trellis to them. Additionally we used clear zip ties across the "H's" midline to further secure the trellis to the frame. We raised the center trellis to 9 feet and placed it about a foot closer into our yard and the remaining 2 trellises flanking it behind and to the sides about 18" from our backyard neighbors white vinyl fence. I planted climbing roses and clematis and now I'm waiting for Mother Nature to work her magic! They look beautiful and elegant. Our neighbors (all sides) are also impressed. The spires atop these trellises mimic the design of fence post caps. My husband and I are delighted! We know we have negated the warrantee by not using them in the recommended manner but these trellises are both unusual and beautiful. The photo may look misleading because the trellises ARE level at all angles. Would HIGHLY recommend!
